Lab-Grown cord blood offers new hope for patients without donors

NCT ID NCT07301866

Summary

This study is testing a new method to improve stem cell transplants for adults with high-risk blood cancers like leukemia who cannot find a matching donor. Doctors take stem cells from donated umbilical cord blood and grow them in the lab using a special molecule called UM171, aiming to make the transplant work better and help patients recover faster. The study will enroll 7 patients to see if using a higher dose of UM171 makes the process safer and more effective.
