New drug cocktail tested to shrink tumors before esophageal cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT07374003

Summary

This study is testing a combination of two immunotherapy drugs with two chemotherapy drugs as a treatment given before surgery for locally advanced esophageal cancer. The goal is to see if this 'neoadjuvant' approach can shrink or even eliminate the tumor, making surgery more effective and improving long-term outcomes. The trial will enroll 62 patients to measure how many achieve a complete disappearance of cancer cells in the removed tissue and to monitor safety.
