Researchers seek better yardstick for tricky colonoscopies

NCT ID NCT07228715

Summary

This study aims to create a new, more objective way to measure how difficult it is for doctors to insert a colonoscope during a colonoscopy. Researchers will analyze data from 2,000 adult patients undergoing colonoscopies, looking at the time it takes to reach the end of the colon. They will test different mathematical methods to standardize this time measurement, hoping to account for differences in doctor experience and equipment, and create a tool that works reliably in any hospital.
