New surgical technique aims to preserve more gut in colon cancer patients

Summary
This study is testing if a newer, less invasive surgery for colon cancer works as well as or better than the standard surgery. Researchers will compare two types of laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeries to see which one helps patients live longer without the cancer returning and gives them a better quality of life. About 568 patients with cancer in a specific part of the colon will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two surgeries.
