First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at a new blood test that detects a tiny piece of the CMV virus (called microRNA) in people who had a stem cell transplant. The goal was to see if this test works as well as the standard test for finding CMV reactivation. Researchers used stored blood samples from 60 adult transplant patients to compare the new method with the usual DNA test.
