Internal 'Magnetic' catheter aims to ease burden for men
NCT ID NCT05848037
Summary
This study tested a new type of catheter designed to stay inside the body for up to 30 days, using a small magnet to control urination. It aimed to see if this device was more comfortable and caused fewer infections than the standard external Foley catheter for men living with long-term urinary retention. The trial was small and ended early, comparing patient-reported quality of life and safety over about 90 days.
