New 'Smart Bomb' drug targets tough cancers in major trial

Summary

This study is testing a new experimental drug called ALE.P02 for adults with advanced squamous cell cancers that have spread or can't be removed by surgery. The drug is designed to target cancer cells that have a specific marker called Claudin-1. Researchers will first find the safest and most effective dose, then see how well the drug works to shrink tumors in patients with cancers of the lung, head and neck, cervix, or esophagus who have already tried standard treatments.
