Glowing needle aims to spot hidden breast lesions, reduce repeat surgeries
NCT ID NCT06994416
Summary
This study is looking back at past surgeries to see if a new fluorescent needle helps doctors find and sample tiny lesions inside breast ducts more accurately than older methods. The goal is to improve the match between what's seen during surgery and the final lab results, which could help patients avoid needing a second operation. It involves 300 women who had a specific type of breast surgery.
