Glowing needle aims to shine a light on hidden breast cancer

NCT ID NCT07339306

Summary

This study is testing a new glowing needle designed to help surgeons find and sample very small, hard-to-see lesions inside the tiny milk ducts of the breast. It aims to see if this new tool gives more accurate biopsy results during surgery compared to current methods, which could help avoid missed diagnoses and the need for repeat operations. The study will involve 300 women across multiple hospitals who are scheduled for breast duct surgery.
