New 'Find and Treat' approach tested for tough breast cancers

NCT ID NCT07121244

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a two-part approach for advanced breast cancer that has returned or spread. First, a new radioactive tracer (68Ga-R11228) is used in a PET scan to find cancer spots in the body. If the scan shows the cancer takes up the tracer, patients may then receive a related treatment (177Lu-R11228) that delivers radiation directly to those tumors. The main goal is to check the safety of both the imaging agent and the potential treatment.
