New catheter design tested for bowel management relief

NCT ID NCT07473622

Summary

This study compares two already-approved bowel irrigation catheters to see if a new self-holding design works better than a traditional balloon type for managing chronic constipation and/or fecal incontinence. About 66 adults who haven't used these devices before will be randomly assigned to use one type daily and will be followed for up to a year. The main goal is to see which device people find easier and more comfortable to use in their daily lives.
