Breakthrough blood test could spot dangerous placenta condition before birth
NCT ID NCT07421180
Summary
This study tested whether a protein in a pregnant woman's blood, called adropin, can help doctors identify a dangerous condition called placenta accreta spectrum (PAS). Researchers compared blood levels of this protein in 42 women with the condition to 42 healthy pregnant women. The goal is to find a simple test to predict this complication before delivery, allowing for better planning and safer care.
