New emergency room tool aims to spot dangerous stomach bleeds faster
NCT ID NCT07458178
Summary
This study tested a new scoring system to help doctors quickly identify which patients with stomach bleeding are at highest risk for serious complications. Researchers looked back at the records of 312 adult patients who came to one emergency room with stomach bleeding. They created a simple score using four common measurements to predict who might need a blood transfusion, a procedure to stop the bleeding, intensive care, or who might die in the hospital.
