New pill targets root of asthma inflammation in global trial

NCT ID NCT07191535

Summary

This study is testing an experimental pill called linvemastat as an add-on treatment for adults whose moderate-to-severe asthma isn't fully controlled by their standard inhalers. About 135 participants will take either the new drug or a placebo pill daily for 16 weeks while continuing their usual asthma medications. Researchers will measure if linvemastat improves lung function, reduces asthma attacks, and is safe for patients who need better symptom control.
