Race for a better hospital pneumonia drug

NCT ID NCT05204563

Summary

This study tested a new antibiotic combination (IMI-XNW4107) against an existing one for treating severe bacterial pneumonia caught in the hospital or while on a ventilator. It involved 450 adult patients to see if the new treatment was at least as good at preventing death within 14 days. The main goal was to see if the new drug could be a safe and effective option for these dangerous infections.
