Skull injection breakthrough tested for deadly brain infections

NCT ID NCT07495150

Summary

This study tests whether injecting antibiotics directly into the skull bone marrow, combined with standard IV antibiotics, works better than IV antibiotics alone for severe bacterial meningitis. It's for patients aged 18-75 whose severe brain infection isn't improving after 2-3 days of standard treatment. Researchers want to see if this new delivery method helps get more medicine to the brain to fight the infection more effectively.
