Race for better antibiotics: new combo battles deadly hospital pneumonia

Summary
This study is testing if a new combination of antibiotics (meropenem + pralubactam) works as well as an existing treatment for severe pneumonia that patients get in the hospital or while on a ventilator. It will involve about 420 adult patients. The main goal is to see if the new combination is at least as effective at preventing death by day 14 of treatment.
