Faster transplant strategy aims to cut risks for older blood cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07046078

Summary

This study is testing a new, faster treatment plan for adults aged 60 and older with aggressive blood cancers like acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The goal is to see if giving strong chemotherapy followed quickly by a lower-intensity stem cell transplant is safer and more effective. Researchers hope this approach will shorten the dangerous period of low blood cell counts, reduce side effects, and help more patients successfully complete the transplant.
