Summary

This study tests a new procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to reduce thickened heart muscle in people with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (oHCM), a condition where the heart muscle is too thick and blocks blood flow. About 124 adults aged 18 to 80 with significant symptoms will be randomly assigned to receive either the active ablation or a sham procedure, while all continue standard medications. The main goal is to see if the treatment reduces the pressure gradient across the heart valve by at least half or to a safe level at 6 months.
