Brain scans aim to stop vapers from becoming smokers
NCT ID NCT05447325
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 37 times
Summary
This study looks at whether brain scans can predict which young adult vapers will start smoking cigarettes. 180 vapers who don't currently smoke will have their brains scanned and then receive weekly anti-vaping messages for a year. Researchers will track their vaping and smoking habits to see if the messages and brain activity can help prevent them from starting to smoke.
