New patch aims to cut opioid need after knee surgery

NCT ID NCT07439666

Summary

This study is testing whether a device called NEUROCUPLE can help manage pain and reduce the need for opioid painkillers after total knee replacement surgery. Researchers will compare the active patch to a placebo patch in 274 adults having the surgery. The main goals are to see if the patch lowers pain in the first day and reduces total opioid use over a week.
