Mind over matter: MIT tests bionic leg controlled by thought

NCT ID NCT07204912

Summary

This MIT study is testing a new bionic leg that people control with their own muscle signals. It aims to see if this 'neural-controlled' prosthetic helps people with above-knee amputations walk more naturally on different surfaces like stairs and level ground, compared to their usual prosthetic leg. The goal is to gather information to design better prosthetics that feel more like a part of the user's body.
