Glowing nerves: new system aims to prevent surgical damage
NCT ID NCT06227585
Summary
This study tested a new system designed to help surgeons see nerves more clearly during head and neck surgery. Patients received a fluorescent dye before their operation, and surgeons used a special camera to see if the dye made the nerves 'glow' under blue light. The goal was to see if this system could make nerves easier to identify and avoid, potentially reducing the risk of accidental nerve damage.
