New 3D-Guided nerve block aims to take the guesswork out of back surgery
NCT ID NCT07531485
First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new, more precise method of numbing individual nerves in the lower back to figure out exactly which one is causing leg pain from a herniated disc or narrow spine. About 80 adults who need surgery will get one or two of these guided nerve blocks before their operation. The goal is to see if this technique is safe and more accurate than the standard approach, so surgeons can operate on the right spot and improve pain relief.
