Scientists test 'Glue' to instantly reconnect severed nerves

NCT ID NCT02359825

Summary

This early-stage trial is testing whether a common medical polymer gel (PEG) can help quickly reconnect completely severed nerves in the hand. The gel is applied during standard nerve repair surgery, with the goal of restoring nerve function much faster than current methods allow. The study will enroll 18 people with recent, clean-cut nerve injuries to assess safety and see if the treatment improves movement and feeling.
