Doctors test nerve crush to speed lung surgery recovery

NCT ID NCT07259031

Summary

This study looked at whether briefly paralyzing a breathing nerve during lung surgery could help patients recover faster. Researchers compared 55 patients who had this temporary nerve paralysis with those who did not. They measured breathing function, muscle activity, and recovery times to see if the approach was safe and effective at reducing complications like air leaks.
