Glowing nerves: new dye aims to prevent surgical mishaps

NCT ID NCT07385430

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a new dye called LGW16-03 that is designed to make nerves glow under special imaging during surgery. The main goal is to check if the dye is safe and to find the best dose that helps surgeons clearly see nerves, which could help avoid accidentally cutting or damaging them. The study will enroll up to 38 adults who are already scheduled for certain types of open orthopedic surgery where a major nerve will be exposed.
