First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tested two types of nerve blocks to control pain after total hip replacement in 93 older adults (65+). One block targeted the hip capsule nerves, the other a deeper abdominal muscle area. The goal was to see which block reduced the need for morphine and improved pain scores and movement recovery. Results help guide pain management choices for elderly patients.
