Nerve block may speed shoulder surgery healing

NCT ID NCT05499897

Summary

This study tested whether a nerve block (numbing the shoulder area) helps wounds heal better after shoulder surgery compared to general anesthesia (being fully asleep). Researchers followed 34 adults having rotator cuff repair surgery, measuring wound healing and body responses in the first two weeks. The goal was to see if the nerve block approach leads to faster recovery with less pain and better healing markers.
