Targeted nerve block aims to ease hip surgery pain without leg weakness
NCT ID NCT06369948
Summary
This study tested a new type of nerve block, called a PENG block, for people having hip replacement surgery. Researchers wanted to see if this specific nerve block could better manage pain after surgery and reduce the need for strong opioid painkillers. They compared 60 patients who received the block with those who did not, measuring pain levels, opioid use, and recovery.
