New nerve block could ease agony of hip surgery for elderly
NCT ID NCT07194356
Summary
This study tested if a specific nerve block, given before surgery, could reduce the severe pain elderly patients often feel when being positioned for spinal anesthesia for a broken hip. It also looked at whether the block helped reduce pain and the need for strong painkillers after the operation. The trial compared 60 patients who received the block to those who did not.
