Doctors test new method to numb just the arm for surgery
NCT ID NCT07326943
Summary
This study aims to find the smallest effective dose of a numbing medicine (ropivacaine) for a specific nerve block in the neck. The block is designed to numb only the arm and hand for surgery, potentially avoiding numbing the chest and diaphragm muscle to help patients breathe easier. Researchers will test different doses in 56 adults having hand or forearm surgery to see which one works best with the fewest side effects.
