Doctors test new numbing drug to see if it helps patients breathe better after surgery

NCT ID NCT07263295

Summary

This study aims to understand how two different numbing medicines affect the breathing muscle (diaphragm) when used for pain control during arm surgery. Researchers will compare a standard numbing medicine against a newer, longer-lasting version in 120 patients. They will measure breathing function and pain levels before and after surgery to see which option allows the breathing muscle to recover faster.
