Zapping nerves to tame stubborn blood pressure and sugar

NCT ID NCT06880562

Summary

This study is testing if a one-time, minimally invasive procedure can help people whose high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes are not well controlled by medications. Doctors will use a catheter to apply gentle heat to calm overactive nerves around the kidneys and in the abdomen. The goal is to see if this nerve treatment can safely lower blood pressure and improve blood sugar levels for up to six months.
