Eye scans may reveal future kidney trouble after surgery

NCT ID NCT04855123

First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a special eye scan (OCT-A) can predict how well a person's remaining kidney will work one year after kidney cancer surgery. Researchers enrolled 30 adults scheduled for total kidney removal. The goal was to see if changes in the tiny blood vessels in the eye are linked to future kidney problems. The study was stopped early, so results are limited.
