Doctors investigate if earlier breathing tube removal helps newborns recover faster

NCT ID NCT07465055

Summary

This study looks back at medical records of 60 newborns who had surgery for a spinal cord defect called meningomyelocele. Researchers want to see if removing the breathing tube right after surgery in the operating room leads to better recovery than removing it later in the intensive care unit. They will compare how long babies need breathing support and how long they stay in the hospital between the two groups.
