Tiny patients, big question: which blade is safer for infant breathing tubes?
NCT ID NCT05843565
Summary
This study aimed to find out which of two video laryngoscope blade designs gives doctors a better view of the airway when placing a breathing tube in newborns and small infants. Researchers compared a straight blade and a curved blade in 39 infants under 3 months old. The goal was to see which blade led to a clearer view, faster intubation, and fewer complications, to improve safety for these vulnerable patients.
