Melanoma patients get immunotherapy shots directly into tumors before surgery
NCT ID NCT07230613
First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tests whether injecting two immunotherapy drugs (ipilimumab and nivolumab) directly into melanoma tumors before surgery can shrink or eliminate the cancer while causing fewer side effects than standard IV treatment. About 50 adults with stage III melanoma that can be surgically removed will receive these injections. The goal is to see if this approach leads to a complete or major response in the tumor tissue removed during surgery.
