Old HIV drug gets new shot at fighting cancer
NCT ID NCT03077451
Summary
This study tested whether nelfinavir, a medication originally developed for HIV, could help treat Kaposi sarcoma skin cancer. Researchers gave 36 participants with Kaposi sarcoma increasing doses of the drug to see if it could shrink their tumors. The trial measured how many people responded to treatment and monitored side effects of the higher doses.
