New drainage technique may beat stenting for pancreatitis prevention

NCT ID NCT07446543

First seen Mar 03, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether a negative-pressure drainage tube is better than a pancreatic duct stent at preventing pancreatitis after endoscopic removal of duodenal papillary tumors. About 132 adults aged 18-75 with benign or early-stage cancerous tumors will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods. The main goal is to see which approach leads to fewer cases of pancreatitis after the procedure.
