Doctors hunt for clues to predict deadly Flesh-Eating infection outcomes

NCT ID NCT07359651

Summary

This study aims to identify early signs that predict which patients with severe, fast-moving skin infections (necrotizing soft tissue infections) are most likely to die in the hospital. Researchers will look back at the medical records of 300 adult patients treated at major Italian hospitals to find patterns in the information available when patients first arrived. The goal is to help doctors recognize high-risk patients sooner so they can receive more intensive monitoring and care from the start.
