Summary

This study tests whether inhaling a medication called dexmedetomidine before surgery can reduce dangerous spikes in heart rate and blood pressure when a breathing tube is inserted. 66 adults undergoing planned surgery will receive either the drug or a saltwater mist. The goal is to see if the drug makes the procedure safer for the heart.
