Special light could mean fewer needle pokes for kids getting IVs

NCT ID NCT07279701

Summary

This study is testing if a special near-infrared light device helps medical staff see veins better in children. The goal is to see if using this light makes it easier to insert an IV needle on the first try, which could mean fewer painful attempts for young patients. Researchers will compare the success rate of IV placement with and without the light device in 200 children at a hospital in the Czech Republic.
