Special light aims to reduce needle pokes for kids getting IVs

NCT ID NCT07279701

Summary

This study is testing if a near-infrared light device, which makes veins easier to see under the skin, helps medical staff place IVs in children more successfully on the first try. It involves 200 children at a hospital in the Czech Republic who need an IV for anesthesia or care. The goal is to see if this tool reduces the number of needle attempts needed, making the process less stressful for young patients.
