Study tests if one nausea drug can replace steroids for chemo patients

NCT ID NCT05590923

Summary

This study aimed to see if the drug olanzapine works as well as the steroid dexamethasone at preventing nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. Adult cancer patients starting certain chemotherapy treatments were randomly assigned to receive one drug for their first treatment cycle, then switched to the other for their second cycle. The goal was to help patients and doctors choose the most effective anti-nausea medication with fewer side effects.
