Can ocean waves calm dental fears? study tests nature sounds for anxious seniors

NCT ID NCT07458451

Summary

This study aims to see if listening to recorded nature sounds, like ocean waves and bird songs, can help reduce anxiety and fear in older adults during routine dental filling procedures. It will involve 78 participants aged 65 and over, who will be randomly assigned to listen to nature sounds, white noise, or receive standard care with no sound. The goal is to find a simple, drug-free way to make dental visits more comfortable for seniors.
