First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tested whether the drug etanercept can help people with severe skin reactions called Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN). These conditions cause the skin to blister and peel off. The trial compared etanercept to standard supportive care. Only 2 adults took part, and researchers also collected samples to learn more about the diseases. The goal was to find better ways to manage these serious conditions.
