Gentler pain relief for tiniest patients? study tests nose spray alternative to needles

NCT ID NCT07190625

Summary

This study aims to find a less invasive way to manage pain in premature babies during medical procedures. It will compare pain relief from fentanyl given as a nasal spray to the standard intravenous (IV) injection. Researchers will measure pain levels in 75 preterm infants to see if the nasal route works as well as the IV method.
