New study: using allergy spray only when needed may work just as well as daily use in kids

NCT ID NCT05299086

First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looked at whether children with year-round allergies can use a nasal steroid spray only when they have symptoms, instead of every day. 68 children aged 6-18 took part. The goal was to see if the as-needed approach controls symptoms just as well, while lowering the risk of side effects from long-term daily use.
