Could a simple nasal spray keep moms cool during childbirth?

NCT ID NCT07501221

Summary

This study is testing if a nasal spray medicine (dexmedetomidine) can prevent fever that sometimes happens when women get an epidural for pain relief during labor. Researchers will give the spray or a placebo (saltwater spray) to 446 women right before their epidural to see which group has fewer fevers. They will also check the medicine's effects on pain, sedation, and safety for both mother and baby.
